Ha Long Cruise Port Named ‘Asia’s Best Cruise Terminal’ at the World Cruise Awards 2026

Ha Long Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding (GPH), the world’s largest cruise port operator, has been named ‘Asia’s Best Cruise Terminal’ at the World Cruise Awards 2026, following the awards ceremony held in Jamaica on October 12th.

The award recognizes Ha Long Cruise Port’s role in supporting cruise tourism across Asia, combining modern facilities with access to one of the region’s most renowned destinations. With six piers serving a range of vessels, from yachts to mega cruise ships, the port serves both domestic and international passengers. The port’s infrastructure is designed to support a broad range of maritime activities.

Strategically located alongside Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the port offers cruise passengers direct access to Northern Vietnam’s spectacular natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism experiences. Situated approximately 2.5 hours from Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, Ha Long benefits from well-developed highway connections, allowing visitors to travel between the two destinations. This accessibility strengthens Ha Long’s position as a key destination for international cruise itineraries and provides opportunities for passengers to explore the wider region.

The port also plays an important role in supporting Vietnam’s growing cruise tourism sector by facilitating international cruise calls, strengthening destination connectivity and contributing to the development of the local tourism economy. Through its modern facilities and strategic location, Ha Long Cruise Port continues to support the destination’s appeal to cruise lines seeking distinctive experiences for their guests.

Having previously received the same distinction in 2022, this second World Cruise Awards recognition further reinforces Ha Long Cruise Port’s position as one of Asia’s leading cruise terminals. The latest achievement follows another prestigious recognition at the World Travel Awards where Ha Long Cruise Port was named ‘Asia’s Leading Cruise Port 2026’. Together, these accolades highlight the port’s continued commitment to operational excellence, high-quality cruise infrastructure and exceptional passenger experiences, while reinforcing its contribution to strengthening Vietnam’s position on the international cruise map and supporting the long-term growth of the region’s cruise tourism industry.
